Attendant Terminal
Combining new technologies and toll operation needs into an easy-to-use interface for toll attendants.
The attendant lane terminal is similar to the point of sale touch-screen systems used by some retailers and restaurants; all available options are on a touch-screen, completely eliminating the need for a keyboard and a mouse.
The only equipment required in the attendant lane is:
- Lane terminal touch-screen monitor
- Paper receipt printer to generate customer receipts
- Badge reader (proximity card) for secure
system access (optional)
Some of the many functions available through the touch-screen monitor include:
- Classify vehicle based on observation
- Transact cash or select available toll tag (transponder) for payment
- Send various messages to supervisor or trigger panic alarm
- Check lane system components status and performance
- Classify Unusual Occurrences such as vehicle run-throughs or emergency vehicles
- Initiate lane system diagnostic tests
- Access Automatic Coin Machine (ACM) statistics and control vault movement in ACM lanes, if available
The attendant can securely access the system using the proximity card reader. To enter lane transactional information, the attendant touches labeled buttons on the screen. In our single lane/pre-classification solution, the UTS IVIS (vehicle classification) patented technology will pre-classify a vehicle with data from the first sensor in the lane and display the vehicle classification on the monitor. The attendant can visually confirm the classification prior to the vehicle arriving at the booth (or pay point) and complete the transaction. This pre-classification capability reduces the workload of the attendant and provides a better and more accurate audit trail for the tolling authority.
