Traffic Control Pedestal
UTS took a second look at existing tolling technology to design a better,
more tightly-integrated solution

Typically in a single attended toll lane design, the tollbooth may have a side-mounted patron toll display, a stand-alone traffic light signal, overhead VES cameras mounted in the gantry, and violation alarms and signals positioned else where in the lane. Our engineers recognized that consolidating these components into a single pedestal makes installation and maintenance much more efficient and provides a much nicer aesthetic appearance in the toll lane The UTS Traffic Control Pedestal (TCP) provides a single location for these devices and allows access to cameras without costly lane closures or lift equipment being required.
The UTS TCP houses these components and is configurable
based on the lane type (attended, ACM, dedicated ETC, attended ETC, etc):
- Green traffic signal
- Red traffic signal (optional)
- Low balance indicator
- Rear VES camera and strobe housing
- Front VES camera and strobe housing (optional)
- Patron toll display - three scrollable LED rows,
27 characters - Violation alarm
- Red violation beacon
- Secure maintenance ports panel
